Go for croak. JUMP tells the tale of the Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee, inspired by the famous Mark Twain story. It follows some dedicated frog jockeys as they prepare for their annual quest to be the County's top frog jumper. Net more details at www.frogumentary.com. JUMP hit the festival circuit in late 2005.
A film for those who let it all hang out. The geoduck ("gooey duck") clam sports a phallic, three-foot-long neck and a life span of 160-plus years. The documentary 3 Feet Under (63 min., DV) explores how the geoduck has garnered a devoted following in the Pacific Northwest over the past century. 3 Feet has been playing the festival circuit and on many PBS stations.
